CamelBak HeroPak

Earthquake-Disaster Water-Filtration Backpack

When earthquakes hit, finding potable water can become a challenge. HeroPak is the backpack designed for earthquake survivors who can travel by foot to find water. Natural water sources such as ponds, rivers, and streams would be safe to extract water from. The water first goes through a ceramic filter which removes all bacterias and viruses, Next it passes through a carbon and ion exchange resin filter that removes heavy metals and chemicals.

The filter technology was chosen for its cost and use case. While they do not filter everything except water out such as reverse osmosis systems, they do provide potable water that is safe to drink and is affordable for every family to add in their emergency supplies.
